Since 1947, people from all over the world have been sending Valentines to Loveland to be cancelled with a stamp that sends greetings from the Sweetheart City. Learn about the program’s history during this drop in mini-camp. All ages are welcome and stations will include: cache stamping (bring your own Valentines), making your own Valentine cards, Miss Loveland Valentine visits, and more.

The Loveland Museum/Gallery is an “Official Valentine Drop Site” from February 1 through February 11.

Do Tell! Storytelling Event ~ Greeley

“Do Tell! – Greeley Voices that Inspire” will feature compelling stories presented by local residents on stage at the Hensel Phelps Theater located in the Downtown Union Colony Civic Center.

The stories are not the work of professional presenters but are based upon the experiences of “real people” who have been selected through an audition process to tell their story. The storytellers will offer an array of topics with personal and unique perspectives that have had a significant impact on the storyteller’s life in some way.

“From Canterbury Tales to modern day TED Talks, storytelling remains an enduring means to relate the human experience,” notes Becky Safarik, Greeley Creative District President. “Everyone has a story, and we are enthused about providing a special setting to hear those stories.”

Tickets to the event are $25 and include light refreshments and a complimentary journal. Seating is limited so reserving a seat early to this special performance is encouraged. Tickets may be purchased through the Union Colony Civic Center Ticket office or at UCstars.com. This event is co-sponsored by the City of Greeley, Greeley’s Great Group, and the Greeley Creative District.

Well Dressed in Weld Exhibit Begins ~ Greeley

One-hundred years of Weld County Fashions go on display in the Greeley History Museum’s Upper Level Gallery this week. The exhibit features clothing and accessories and how they change from decade to decade, from 1850 through 1950. Examples of evening wear, recreation and swimwear, fur trapper’s clothing and even mourning attire are on display. Visitors will be able to feel different materials and examine different weaving, sewing and spinning methods, and children can dress up in historical reproduction clothing.

Rails in the Rockies ~ Estes Park

Clanging bells, tooting whistles, and blaring horns will fill the Estes Park Conference Center on Feb. 13 and 14, 2016 as trains from the steam age to the present time roar along tracks of model railroad layouts at the 17th annual “Rails in the Rockies” exhibit.

Organized by the Estes Valley Model Railroaders, these working exhibits include models of trains from many regions of the United States as well as selected models of British railroads, all of which have been crafted in detail by dedicated model railroaders from all over Colorado. Children will enjoy the “Kids Layout” where they can actually operate model trains themselves.

Full Moon Hike ~ Estes Park

Learn from rock climbing expert and outdoor enthusiast Tommy Caldwell and his wife Becca on the importance of bringing the family outdoors. Learn how backcountry and mountaineering for the family can be fun and inspiring.

We’ll have guest speakers, excursions for every level of experience, and demos by popular mountaineering equipment brands such as LOWA, LEKI, and much more!
